DISC® Workstyles Assessment
The DISC Profile is a nonjudgmental tool for understanding behavior. It helps people explore behavior across four primary dimensions: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. The DISC Behavioral Profile model describes behavioral patterns in terms of four tendencies:
- D Dominance: Direct, driving, decisive. These people tend to be independent and results driven. They are strong willed individuals who enjoy challenges, taking action, and immediate results. Their focus tends to be on the bottom line and results. People with a high "D" behavior tendency seek to shape their environment by overcoming opposition to accomplish results.
- I Influence: Optimistic and outgoing. These individuals tend to be very social and outgoing. They prefer participating on teams, sharing thoughts, and entertaining and energizing others. People with a high "I" behavioral tendency seek to shape their environment by influencing or persuading others.
- S Steadiness: Sympathetic and cooperative. These individuals tend to be your team players and are supportive and helpful to others. They prefer being behind the scene, working in consistent and predictable ways. They are often good listeners and avoid change and conflict. People with a high "S" behavioral tendency seek to cooperation with others to carry out their tasks.
- C Conscientious: Concerned, cautious, and correct. These people are often focused on details and quality. They plan ahead and constantly check for accuracy. They want to know "how" and "why." People with high "C" behavioral tendency seek to work within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy.
All people have all four behavioral tendencies but in differing intensities. Research indicates that successful people are those who have an understanding of themselves and others and who are able to develop strategies to meet the needs of specific situations.
